Rene Ferris

Rene Ferris has worked in the field of risk and safety management since 2012. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as an EHS Specialist at The Babcock & Wilcox Company, where they drove change through others, managed accident/incident cases, conducted EHS-related training, and provided guidance to management. From 2013 to present, they have worked at Davis-Ulmer Sprinkler Co. as a Risk and Safety Manager and Risk and Safety Coordinator. In this role, they have maintained data and prepared analyses, reviewed and abstracted construction contracts, tracked contract negotiations, and assisted with the preparation of related documents. Additionally, they have conducted safety audits, reviewed and managed safety programs, provided site safety orientations and safety training modules, and coached and trained employees to correct any unsafe act or condition. Lastly, from 2013 to present, they have worked as an EHS Specialist at STARCON International, Inc., where they managed accident/incident cases, completed and submitted reports, conducted EHS-related training, provided guidance to management, and developed Site Specific Safety plans, Emergency Action/Rescue plans, and Job Hazard Analysis plans for projects.

Rene Ferris obtained a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology from the State University of New York at Fredonia between 2006 and 2011. In 2013, Rene obtained a Train the Trainer certification from the Scaffold Training Institute. In 2014, Rene obtained Train the Trainer certifications from JLG Industries for both Aerial Lift and Rough Terrain Forklift/LULL. In 2016, Rene obtained a Train the Trainer certification from EMS Safety Services for CPR/AED/First Aid/BBP. Finally, in 2017, Rene obtained an OSHA 500 Trainer certification from the OSHA Safety Training Institute.
