Rashid Abro is an Associate Professor at Dawood University of Engineering and Technology since March 2017, with a strong background in chemical engineering. Prior to this role, Rashid worked as a Chemical Engineer at PCSIR from April 2010 to March 2017, focusing on research activities for developing and improving products, including the production of low-cost brake oil from custard oil, and contributing to the Drinking Water Quality Monitoring Program. Rashid's early career includes a position as a lecturer at DCET - Karachi from September 2007 to April 2010, where responsibilities included teaching biochemical engineering and chemical process principles. Rashid holds a Master's degree leading to a PhD in Chemical Engineering Technology from Beijing University of Chemical Technology and a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology.

The foundation stone of the Dawood College of Engineering & Technology was laid by the former President of Pakistan (Late) Field Marshal Muhammad Ayub Khan in 1962. The College was established by Dawood Foundation under the supervision of Seth Ahmed Dawood in 1964.
