Ian Andrews

Research Scientist II at Day Zero Diagnostics

Ian Andrews has a wealth of experience in research and production roles. Ian began their career in 2012 as a Science and Math Tutor and a Production Specialist at Transparent Devices. In 2013, they took on an Undergraduate Research Assistant role at the University of Washington, as well as Undergraduate Representative roles for the Department of Bioengineering's Curriculum Committee and Student Advisory Board. In 2015, they were a Summer Research Fellow at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). Ian then worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2016 to 2022, and is currently a Research Scientist at Day Zero Diagnostics, Inc.

Ian Andrews received their Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from the University of Washington in 2016. Prior to that, they attended Juneau-Douglas High School from 2008 to 2012. In addition, they obtained the Husky 100 certification from the University of Washington in January 2016. Ian is currently pursuing their Doctor of Philosophy in Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they began in 2016 and is expected to complete in 2022.
