John Cummings

John Cummings is an experienced sports writer and media relations professional with a diverse background in journalism and public relations. Currently serving as a contributing writer for the Dayton Daily News since November 2006, John covers UD women's basketball and the Dayton Dragons professional baseball team. Previously, John held the position of Director of Media Relations for the Miami Valley Silverbacks and Cincinnati Marshals professional indoor football teams, where responsibilities included managing media requests, writing press releases, and overseeing game night protocols. As Sports Editor for the Miamisburg-West Carrollton News from July 1995 to November 2006, John planned and covered sporting events while also managing photography and layout. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree from Antioch University Midwest and a Bachelor’s degree from The University of Findlay.
