Sharon Wilmore

Sharon Wilmore is a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in editorial leadership and community engagement. Currently serving as the Managing Editor for Community Engagement at Dayton Daily News and Dayton.com since November 2011, Sharon oversees digital content and lifestyle coverage for multiple Cox First Media newspapers. Previous roles include Assistant Metro Editor and Team Leader at Springfield News-Sun, and various editorial positions at Detroit Free Press, where accomplishments include directing award-winning projects and improving operational efficiency. With a strong background in human relations management, Sharon has been instrumental in recruitment, training, and developing diversity initiatives across several organizations. Sharon holds a Master's degree in Educational Technology from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of South Carolina.
