Andreas Hoffrichter

Andreas Hoffrichter is a Principal Consultant at DB E.C.O. North America Inc., focusing on sustainable railway motive power solutions with an emphasis on low- and zero-emission technologies. Previous roles include Senior Manager and Manager in Management Consulting, where Andreas advised clients on sustainable mobility and implemented new zero-emission vehicle technologies. Andreas served as the Burkhardt Professor in Railway Management and Executive Director of the Center for Railway Research & Education at Michigan State University, leading educational and research initiatives. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Railroad and Railway Transportation, an MSc in Railway Systems Engineering and Integration, and a BSc in Transport Management, all from the University of Birmingham. Additional experience encompasses research and teaching positions at the University of Warwick and the University of Birmingham, along with consultancy work and early career experience in banking.
