Alex Halpern

Alex Halpern is a seasoned investment professional with extensive experience in real estate and finance. Currently serving as Chief Investment Officer and Co-Founder at Ascendant Capital Partners since October 2019, Alex also holds positions as a Board Member at Sentral and as a Board Advisor & Observer at DC BLOX. Previous experience includes serving on the Board of Watermark Lodging Trust, Inc. through a successful exit, and a decade as Senior Vice President at Highgate where responsibilities included principal underwriting and acquisition of real estate assets across major U.S. and European cities. Earlier in the career, Alex served as an Investment Banking Analyst at Merrill Lynch, focusing on mergers, acquisitions, and financial modeling for real estate entities. Alex earned a BBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
