Marc Deanie has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Marc began their career at BNP Paribas Fortis as a Credit Controller from September 2005 to November 2007. Following this, they worked at Barclays Wealth Management as an Investment Servicing Manager from December 2007 to August 2008. Marc then joined Newsquest as a Freelance News and Sport writer for The Herald and Glasgow Times, where they worked from October 2007 to July 2009. Marc then joined News UK and worked for The Scottish Sun as a News, Features, and TV & Film Writer from July 2009 to January 2017, after which they became the Deputy Sports Editor for The Scottish Sun until January 2020. Marc then transitioned to DC Thomson, where they held the position of Group Sports Editor for The Courier and Evening Telegraph from January 2020 to March 2021. Currently, they serve as the Head of Digital Production for The Courier at DC Thomson, where they are responsible for fostering a growth culture and leading initiatives to achieve digital subscription targets. Marc is also part of the executive team that achieved award nominations and wins, as well as leading the merger of two titles online, resulting in significant subscription and engagement growth.

Marc Deanie attended Glasgow Clyde College from 2008 to 2009, where they obtained a Higher National Certificate in Journalism. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2007, they studied at Glasgow Caledonian University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Studies.
