Shona Duthie

Shona Duthie has a diverse work experience in the field of journalism and media. Shona is currently working as the Deputy Head of Radio News at DC Thomson, starting in November 2022. Prior to this, they held the role of Media Manager at Elgin City Football Club from September 2022 onwards. Shona also worked as a Freelance Journalist in 2021. From 2019 to 2021, they worked at DC Thomson as a Broadcast Journalist and Sub-Editor (sport). Shona gained experience as a Multi-platform Sports Producer at Sky from 2018 to 2019. Shona worked as a Broadcast Journalist at Radio Jackie from 2016 to 2019 and held the positions of Senior Multimedia Reporter and Multimedia Reporter at Trinity Mirror plc in 2017. Shona also worked as a Sports Reporter at Newsquest from 2016 to 2017 and as a Freelance Contributor at News UK from 2014 to 2015.

Shona Duthie's education history begins in 2013 when they enrolled at North East Scotland College to pursue a Professional Development Shorthand Teeline degree. Shona completed their studies in 2014. In 2011, Shona joined the University of Aberdeen to pursue a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in English with Scottish Literature and sustained study in Business. Shona completed their degree in 2015.

In the same year, Shona also attended News Associates and obtained a National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) in Journalism degree. This program lasted from 2015 to 2016. Additionally, Shona obtained the NCTJ Multimedia Journalism Diploma Gold Standard from the National Council for the Training of Journalists in September 2015.

Shona's educational achievements extend beyond their formal degrees and include additional certifications. In December 2017, they obtained the NQJ in Journalism from the National Council for the Training of Journalists. In May 2020, Shona obtained the certification titled "The Six Morning Habits of High Performers" from LinkedIn.
