DC Youth Orchestra Program
Eric Moore is a seasoned actor and musician with a focus on performance and teaching, specializing in 20th-century music history and theory. Since September 1989, Eric has been self-employed as a professional musician and French horn player. Currently, Eric serves as the Brass Section Coach for the DC Youth Orchestra Program, conducting weekly coaching sessions for advanced ensembles. Eric holds the position of Principal Horn with the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra and previously served as Principal Horn and Section Leader with the United States Navy Band from 2001 to 2011. Eric's experience also includes a role as Fourth Horn with the Austin Symphony Orchestra from 1991 to 1993. Educational qualifications include a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Performance from The Catholic University of America, a Master of Music in Musicology/Performance from The University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music Education in European History and Music from Boston University.
