Sammy Nelson has held various roles in the technology industry since 1994. Starting at Microsoft (Softimage Division) as a Support Engineer & Program Manager, they wrote design specifications for the Softimage|3D modelling module and provided creative and technical assistance on 3D modelling, animation and rendering techniques to special effects and movie production studios. In 1998, they became the Release Manager at Softimage Avid, presiding weekly cross-functional meetings and overseeing the software release cycle for the flagship product. In 2002, they joined Expert Medic as the Director of ASP Operations, leading a team of designers and developers to navigate through complex product requirements and regulatory health guidelines to design ground-breaking applications for a SaaS Electronic Health Record (EHR). In 2005, they moved to Audiokinetic as the Product Marketing Manager, evangelizing new production pipelines with 3D gaming companies and managing relations with industry analysts and development partners. In 2006, they became a Marketing Consultant at Splashlink Marketing, reinvigorating life in established company images by shaping brand values and creating new visual identities. In 2007, they joined 2020 Inc. as a Sr. Product Manager, charting a clear path for the development team for current and future-state capabilities. In 2020, they moved to LogMeIn as a Sr. Product Manager eCommerce, facilitating cross-team alignment for the launch of eCommerce channel for the SMB market segment. Sammy is currently the Head of Product and Lead Product Designer at dcbel, responsible for hardware and software product design and user experience.

Sammy Nelson holds a Bachelor with Distinction in Architecture from Carleton University.
