Dereck Eastman

Dereck Eastman has over 19 years of work experience in various roles related to technology and information systems. Dereck started their career as an Automation Assistant at Murphy Library, where they designed and created a web-based system for generating library reports. Dereck also re-engineered Oracle PL/SQL stored functions and fixed errors in bibliographical records.

After that, Dereck worked as a Software Developer for the University of Wisconsin System, where they designed and developed an online application to assist faculty in creating online modules for classroom instruction. The application was developed using PHP, MySQL, CSS, XML, and JavaScript.

In 2006, Dereck joined UW-La Crosse College of Business Administration as an E-Advising System Implementation Intern. Dereck was responsible for implementing a system that provided electronic tools for faculty advising and scheduling meetings. Dereck architected and developed a multi-tiered system using PHP and an Oracle database.

Currently, Dereck is working at DCM Services as the Chief Technology Officer. Dereck is responsible for designing, developing, and launching customized business applications, including enterprise and external SaaS applications. Dereck manages the product development team and works with subject matter experts and designers to define system requirements and design solutions that exceed performance, user experience, and data security requirements.

Dereck Eastman earned their Project Management Certificate in CCE - Project Management from the University of Minnesota in 2009. Prior to that, they attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse from 2001 to 2006 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems.
