Andrea Ness has a long and varied work history in media strategy and oversight, digital and social media marketing, public relations, and account services. Andrea began their career in 1998 with various companies, before joining Martin Waymire in 2008 as Director of New Media Services. In this role, they expanded the firm to include both marketing and advertising arms, led digital design, and educated C-Suite marketing and industry executives on the importance of digital and social media implementation. In 2014, they joined Güd Marketing as Activation Director/Media Growth Manager, where they led client strategy and planning initiatives for digital and owned media activations, drove profitability, and developed a strategic vision to build an effective and successful digital marketing presence. Andrea also served as Outreach and Engagement Director and Account Services Director, where they led digital media, public relations, and marketing teams, contributed to the agency doubling in size, and directed professional growth initiatives for both agency and clients. In 2021, they joined ddm marketing + communications as Media Strategy + Oversight, where they are responsible for building internal training programs for corporate leaders and managers, consulting internal client teams on digital and social media marketing, ad platforms and best practices, overseeing and expanding media team of strategists, planners/buyers, specialists and specialized coordinators, building strong relationships with media partners, driving new client growth by developing media proposals and strategic marketing plans, and ensuring seamless cross-platform integrations, quality assurance, in-market optimizations, and overall analysis.
Andrea Ness has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Advertising, Marketing & Public Relations from Michigan State University, which they obtained between 1997 and 2001. Andrea also holds certifications in Entrepreneurship Foundations from LinkedIn (obtained in April 2021), Dale Carnegie Certification and Leadership Certificate from Dale Carnegie Training (obtained in August 2018), Email Marketing Certification from HubSpot (obtained in July 2020), Google Ads Display Certification from Google (obtained in 2021), and Google Ads Search Certification from Google (obtained in 2021).
