Joe Grund

Joe Grund has extensive work experience in the software engineering field. Joe is currently working at DDN Storage as a Principal Engineer, where they lead a project focused on deploying, managing, and monitoring a distributed HPC filesystem. In this role, Joe has driven the architecture, scoping, and implementation of new features, as well as re-architected Python services for increased performance and resiliency.

Before joining DDN Storage, Joe worked at Intel Corporation as a Software Engineer. Joe was responsible for leading a project focused on a management platform for a distributed HPC filesystem. In this role, Joe re-architected a monolithic codebase into standalone, event-driven services and also contributed to building an open-source community around the project.

Prior to their time at Intel Corporation, Joe worked at One Lux Systems as the President and Web Developer. Joe collaborated with various clients to discuss, design, and develop their ideas, creating custom-built solutions using WordPress. One notable project they worked on was creating a custom events application for an adventure travel client.

Joe has also held positions at iheartradio as a Software Engineer, where they developed a rich client infrastructure tool, and at JESS3 as a Senior Software Engineer, where they created large-scale customer-facing web applications using Python, Django, and JavaScript frameworks.

At Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Online, Joe worked as a Web Developer III, developing a large-scale customer-facing web application using Zend Framework and utilizing agile methodologies and PHP 5 coding practices.

Earlier in their career, Joe worked at M2 Systems as a Senior Software Engineer and Employee, where they maintained PHP web applications and implemented web development stacks using PHP 5.3, Zend Framework, and jQuery. Joe also worked as a Systems Analyst I, creating applications in various areas and deploying PHP-based web applications. Additionally, Joe worked as a PHP Developer on the web development team, creating applications for international organizations and contributing to the development of a custom-built framework derived from CakePHP 1.
