Svetlana Yakovleva

Svetlana Yakovleva is a Senior Associate at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, specializing in Privacy, Data, and Cybersecurity since March 2017. Concurrently, Svetlana serves as a Research Fellow and Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for Information Law (IViR), focusing on cross-border data flows, with an upcoming book to be published by Oxford University Press. Svetlana holds a PhD in Law from the University of Amsterdam, with a thesis on the governance of cross-border data flows. Additionally, Svetlana has experience as a Member of the Editorial Board for Legal Issues of Economic Integration, an Adjunct Professor at Cardozo School of Law, and has held various legal roles, including Legal and Compliance Officer at Allianz Global Assistance Russia and Senior Lawyer at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. Educational qualifications include master's degrees and an LL.M. in law and economics from esteemed institutions.
