Diederik Baazil

Diederik Baazil is an experienced journalist currently working at De Groene Amsterdammer and Bloomberg News, focusing on Dutch politics, economics, and climate policies. Prior to journalism, Diederik served as a Policy Advisor for the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministerie van Financiën at the Permanent Representation of the Netherlands to the EU. Diederik gained valuable experience as an intern at De Nederlandsche Bank, conducting research on insolvency regimes for the European Capital Market Union, and as a trainee at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, assessing the bank’s project investments. Diederik also held leadership roles in AIESEC and the United Nations Student Association Maastricht, while holding a Master's degree in International Political Economy from King's College London and a Bachelor's degree in European Studies from Maastricht University.
