Helmut van Damme

Helmut Van Damme is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the transportation and logistics sectors. Currently serving as the Hoofd Service Traminfrastructuur / Service Manager Tram Infrastructure at De Lijn since February 2019, Helmut leads the maintenance department to ensure efficient tram operations, focusing on systematic maintenance processes and enhancing customer service and safety. Prior to this role, Helmut held several positions at Volvo Group Trucks Operations from December 2001 to January 2019, including Logistic Engineer, Maintenance Department Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, and Quality Assurance Officer, where responsibilities ranged from process analysis to quality oversight of production materials. Earlier, Helmut gained experience as a Repair Engineer & Technical Writer at Volvo Trucks. Helmut holds a Bachelor’s degree in Automobile Maintenance Technology from Katho Campus Kortrijk.
