Mimi Millard has a diverse work experience beginning in 2012. In that year, they were the Cornell University Sustainable Design (CUSD) Project Lead, responsible for leading a team of 25 students in researching and designing straw bale homes for an environmentally conscious housing development in Lansing, NY. Additionally, they participated in the design and construction of an eco-home and sustainable agriculture education center in Nagarote, Nicaragua. In 2013, they were the Administrator at The Rye Arts Center. In 2014, they were a Student Researcher at AguaClara LLC, where they developed the stacked rapid sand filter for widespread use in rural India, invented and designed the Grit Removal Technology now implemented in San Juan Guarita, Honduras, and determined the flocculation efficacy of the Moringa Oleifera seed as a sustainable all-natural coagulant for affordable water treatment. Mimi also held the role of Sustainability Specialist at HOK, where they worked as a paid intern in the D.C. office and was responsible for the LEED certification of several green construction projects. In 2016, they were a Sustainable Design Specialist at HOK. Finally, in 2017, they were the CEO & Co-Founder at De Lune Inc.
Mimi Millard obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering from Cornell University between 2011 and 2015. In 2014, they also completed a study abroad program in Water Resources Engineering at the University of Canterbury. In December 2014, they obtained a LEED Green Associate certification from the USGBC - National Capital Region Chapter. In April 2017, they obtained a WELL AP certification from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI).
