'Funmi Adewole Elliott

Funmi Adewole Elliott is a seasoned performer, writer, and dramaturge with extensive experience in the arts sector. Since 1995, Funmi has worked independently and as a Senior Lecturer in Dance at De Montfort University since January 2017, teaching theory and practice. Funmi premiered a solo movement-based theatre piece titled The Sleepwalker in March 2017 with Tangente Danse in Montreal. Previously, Funmi contributed to several British arts and dance organizations as a project manager and facilitator from 1995 to 2010, including roles with Irie! Dance Theatre and The Association of Dance of the African Diaspora. Additionally, Funmi has a background in media, having worked as a radio actress, producer, and presenter between 1990 and 1994. Funmi's academic qualifications include a PhD in Dance Studies from De Montfort University and multiple degrees in humanities and education.
