Ariena van Wageningen

Ariena Van Wageningen has extensive experience in overseeing and advising on financial market infrastructures, particularly in payment and securities settlement systems. Currently serving as Overseer of Financial Market Infrastructures at De Nederlandsche Bank since August 1999, Ariena supervises retail payment processing providers in the Netherlands and contributes to the Eurosystem Payment and Securities Oversight Working Group. Previous roles at De Nederlandsche Bank include Senior Policy Advisor for Securities Settlement Systems and Payment Systems. Ariena's earlier career includes positions as Company Secretary at Bank Mendes Gans and Policy Advisor at the Netherlands Bankers' Association. Ariena holds a Master's degree in Political Science and two Bachelor's degrees in Documentation and Information and Sociology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Frederik Muller Academie.
