Michelangelo Mantero

Born on August 4, 1968, in Como, he graduated in 1993 with a degree in monetary economics from the Bocconi University in Milan. From 1993 to 1995, he worked as a financial analyst at the investment bank Merrill Lynch in the New York office. Since 1995 he has held the financial controller position first at Edison and then at Asea Brown Boveri. In 1998 he worked as an associate in the investment banking department of Merrill Lynch in London and Milan until 2002 when he became a partner of Vestar Capital Partners, a U.S. private equity fund, where he developed his expertise by actively following several private equity investments. In 2011 he became an independent consultant in mergers and acquisitions. In 2013 he founded GenCap Advisory, specializing in private equity advisory services to family offices and private investors. With GenCap Advisory, he structured several investment transactions in club deals focusing on innovative and logic-cognitive B2B service companies. In 2020, he raised a private equity fund, Xenon Small Cap, with leading international institutional investors. In addition to being a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of De Nora since 2012, he holds the position of non-executive director of the companies involved in the private equity investments he followed, including Sacop S.r.l. operating in passive fire protection systems, [HWG S.r.l. cyber security services company], ECS S.r.l. active in healthcare packaging, [GN Techonomy S.r.l. system integration company].
