Thijs de Booij is a seasoned professional in sustainable energy transition, currently serving as Directeur en eigenaar of De WarmteTransitieMakers since September 2018, where focus lies on assisting municipalities, network operators, developers, and community initiatives in accelerating gas-free projects. In addition to this role, Thijs is a co-owner of both the Nederlands Instituut voor de WarmteTransitie (NIWT) and Greenvis since June 2021 and January 2021 respectively. Previous experience includes a consultant position at Greenvis Energy Solutions (September 2018 - June 2019) and concept developer at Hemubo (February 2015 - September 2018), specializing in sustainable housing and circular construction. Thijs began their career with a graduation internship at RhineTech B.V. in early 2014, focusing on biorefinery design. Educational background includes a Master of Science in Integrated Product Design and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from Delft University of Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Utrecht University.

Zo gaan we samen op zoek naar een passend aardgasvrij alternatief. De betaalbare lokale oplossing noemen we Buurtwarmte. Dat is slimmer dan ieder voor zich, maar toch lokaal. We zijn er voor gemeenten, corporaties, ontwikkelaars, netbeheerders en gebiedsbeheerders om samen met inwoners en ondernemers een geschikte vorm van buurtwarmte te vinden en realiseren.
