Marieke Voortman

Marieke Voortman is a seasoned professional in the field of urban and economic geography, currently serving as a Communicatieadviseur voor gebiedsontwikkeling at De Wijde Blik Communicatie since November 2025. Prior experience includes roles as Adviseur Fysiek Domein and Trainee Fysiek Domein at BMC from March 2022 to November 2025, and as Adviseur Programma Werken at Gemeente Amersfoort between April 2022 and July 2023. Marieke has also held positions in the arts and hospitality sectors, including Parkbeheerder en horeca at TV Tiebreakers and Theatermedewerker at Nationale Opera & Ballet. An international volunteer experience took place with NGO Friends Perú-Korea in 2019. Marieke holds a Research Master's degree in Urban and Economic Geography from Utrecht University and a Bachelor's degree in Sociale Geografie en Planologie from the University of Amsterdam, complemented by a minor at Universidad de Costa Rica UCR.
