Stephen Jones

Stephen Jones is a seasoned professional in the field of linguistics and sign language interpretation, currently holding multiple leadership roles at Deaf Bible Society since January 2020, including Linguist and Quality Assurance Team Director, Director of Sign Linguistic Research and Training, Chief Operating and Field Officer, Chief of Staff, and Associate Director of Programs. Previous experience includes a substantial tenure at Rochester Institute of Technology from September 2006 to January 2020, where Stephen served as an Interpreter and Associate Interpreter, emphasizing the education and support of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals. Additionally, Stephen has served as Course Head for Sign Language Phonology/Phonetics at Summer Institute of Linguistics in 2009 and 2013, preparing lesson plans and grading student performance. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Linguistics from the University of North Dakota, a B.S. in Interpreting & Literature from Rochester Institute of Technology, a B.A. in American Sign Language from Gardner-Webb University, and an A.A. in General Education from Cerro Coso Community College.
