David Dunstan is the Head of the Baker-Deakin Department of Lifestyle and Diabetes and Academic Deputy Director at Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, where research focuses on primary prevention of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Dunstan also holds leadership positions at Deakin University, alongside adjunct roles at several prestigious institutions including The University of Western Australia, University of Queensland, and Monash University. With a strong research background, Dunstan has been a Senior Research Fellow for the National Health and Medical Research Council and has had a visiting professorship at Loughborough University. Education includes a Ph.D. in Medicine from The University of Western Australia and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Movement from RMIT University.
