Karen Starr

Karen Starr is an Emeritus Professor in Education Leadership at Deakin University, where Karen has been since January 2006, serving as the inaugural Chair of the School Development & Leadership and developing the Graduate Certificate in Education Business Leadership. Karen is an accomplished author and researcher, supervising both PhD and Masters by Research students, engaging in research, evaluation, and commercial consultancies, and frequently acting as an international keynote speaker. Notable awards include the 2017 Educator of the Year Award from the Victorian chapter of the Australian Council for Education Leaders and the 2015 Vice Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence. Additionally, since February 2019, Karen has been a Partner at SHK Asia Pacific, a specialist people advisory firm focused on executive search, career transition, and consulting services.
