Latoya Williamson

VP, Business Development at DEARhealth

Latoya Williamson is the Clinical & Business Development Lead at DEARhealth. Prior to this role, they served as the Senior Manager at Osteoporosis Canada, where they managed a secondary fracture prevention program. In this role, Latoya worked with internal and external stakeholders to promote and support the program’s implementation in healthcare systems. Latoya also developed strategies to build the program’s capacity, foster relationships with governments and implement programs in jurisdictions across the country. In 2014, Latoya launched the Canadian Fracture Liaison Services (FLS) Network, Canada’s largest network of healthcare professionals, healthcare administrators and institutions interested in quality FLS in Canada.

Before their work at Osteoporosis Canada, Latoya was the Technology Transfer and Industrial Liaison Assistant at the University of Guelph. In this role, they assessed licensing and partnership potential of University of Guelph research and developed summaries of new technologies available for licensing, to attract potential commercial partners.

Latoya began their career as a Health Communications Consultant at Toronto Public Health. In this role, they provided communications advice and support to Toronto Public Health staff on a variety of health promotion initiatives.

Ms. Williamson has a very impressive educational background, having earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Biological Science from the University of Guelph, a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Guelph, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Corporate Communications and Public Relations from Centennial College. Latoya is currently a Master's student at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, studying Obstetrics and Gynecology. Ms. Williamson also has a certification from UC Berkeley Executive Education in Black Venture Institute.
