Zach Shao

Zach Shao, PhD, is a Scientist II at Debut, specializing in Structural Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence since September 2023. Prior to this role, Zach served as a Senior Scientist at HTG Molecular Diagnostics, focusing on oncology drug candidate development and establishing a bioinformatics program. As a Research Scientist at Allegro Ophthalmics, Zach developed NGS analysis pipelines and managed preclinical research across multiple labs, leading to peer-reviewed publications. Previously, Zach worked as a Bioinformatics Consultant for Audentes Therapeutics and held positions at Caltech, Avidity Biosciences, Roche, and Genencor, with extensive experience in bioinformatics, data analysis, and research program management. Zach earned a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Caltech and a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from UC San Diego.
