Shannon Erb

Shannon Erb, M.A. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Shannon started their career as a Teller/Member Services Representative at UNI Credit Union in 2007. Shannon then worked as a Typesetter/Web Master at The Northern Iowan, where they were responsible for laying out classified pages and updating the news stories on the website.

In 2006, Shannon joined the Institute for Educational Leadership at the University of Northern Iowa as a Research Assistant/Program Assistant. Shannon focused on identifying research topics in education and planning conferences for superintendents and aspiring superintendents in Iowa.

At the University of Northern Iowa, Shannon served as a Graduate Assistant in the Academic Advising office. Their responsibilities included creating and distributing communication and resources for faculty and staff academic advisors.

In 2011, Shannon joined AMPERAGE as an IT Process Coordinator/Web Producer. Shannon managed new website, SEO, and mobile application projects, oversaw a programming team, and provided client training and support.

Shannon's experience in marketing began in 2014 when they joined GRM Networks as a Digital Marketing Specialist. Shannon managed social media outlets, updated the company's website, and designed print marketing materials. Shannon was then promoted to Director of Marketing, where they led the marketing and sales department and created an annual marketing plan.

From 2014 to 2015, Shannon worked as a Webmaster at Central Decatur Community School District. Shannon was responsible for updating website content and managing web projects.

In 2016, Shannon joined Decatur County Development Corporation as the Executive Director. In this role, they managed daily operations, supported local businesses, encouraged tourism, and sought out potential businesses to move or expand to Decatur County. Shannon later transitioned to the position of President of the Board.

Shannon also worked at Decatur County Hospital as the Director of Marketing and Business Development before becoming the Chief Human Resources and Marketing Officer in 2022.

Shannon Erb, M.A. attended the University of Northern Iowa from 2005 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Graphic Communications. They then pursued further education at the University of Northern Iowa from 2009 to 2011, obtaining a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Communication Studies. In 2014 to 2015, Shannon attended the Animal Behavior College where they received a certification as a Dog Trainer, specializing in Dog Obedience.
