Palliative care nurses specialize in providing care and support for patients with life-limiting illnesses. They work closely with the patient and their families to ensure that they are comfortable and have all of their needs met. Palliative care nurses typically have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, although many have a Master's degree or higher.

Palliative care nurses typically work in hospitals, but may also work in clinics, home health agencies, or hospices. They may also be employed by palliative care consultancies.

Palliative care nurses must be compassionate and caring, as they often deal with very sick patients who are facing difficult decisions. They must be able to effectively communicate with both patients and their families, as they will often be coordinating care between different team members. Palliative care nurses must also be able to handle emotionally charged situations.

Palliative care nurses typically have a masters of science in nursing (MSN) degree in family nurse practitioner (FNP) from a school like Simmons College Graduate Studies. They also usually have a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree in registered nursing/registered nurse (RN) from a school such as the University of Alabama.

Palliative Care Nurses reports to Ashley Martin, Manager Clinical and Service Excellence. They work with Theresa Corey - Service Excellence Coordinator, Infection Prevention - Infection Prevention, and Discharge Nurses - Discharge Nurses.
