L Subramani started their work experience in 2000 as a Staff Writer for chennaionline.com until 2001. In 2004, they joined Deccan Herald as a Senior Subeditor and later became a Chief Copy Editor. Their responsibilities included reporting on technology events and trends, writing and editing articles/reports on various subjects like disability affairs, education, and social trends. L Subramani remained with Deccan Herald until the present time.

L Subramani completed their education from 1991 to 1996. L attended Loyola College, University of Madras, Chennai, where they obtained a Masters in English Language and Literature, with a focus on English Language and Journalism. Additionally, they pursued a Masters degree in English Language and Literature at Loyola College and the University of Madras. L also completed a Master of Arts program in English Language and Literature at the University of Madras. Furthermore, they obtained a Masters degree in English Literature from Loyola College during the same time period.
