Vice President - Biotech Public Equities & Venture Capital at Decheng Capital

Michael Notaras Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in both the biotechnology and academic fields. Michael currently holds the position of Vice President - Biotech Public Equities & Venture Capital at Decheng Capital since July 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Morgan Stanley as part of the Biotechnology Equity Research team from July 2022 to July 2023. Michael also worked at Wolfe Research, LLC as part of the Large Cap Biotechnology Equity Research team from September 2021 to July 2022. In terms of their academic experience, they served as an NHMRC CJ Martin Fellow in Neuroscience & Stem Cell Neurobiology at Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University from January 2018 to September 2021. During this time, they conducted research on Schizophrenia neuropathology and prenatal narcotic use on early brain development using human "mini-brains" and custom microfluidic devices. Michael also took on leadership roles as the Founder & Chair of Mental Health Think Tank and a member of the Postdoctoral Affairs Board at Weill Cornell Medical College. In addition to their work in biotechnology and academia, they worked as an Adjunct Professor of Natural Sciences (Applied Physics) at Fordham University from January 2020 to June 2020.

Michael Notaras Ph.D. obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Neurobiology and Neurosciences from the University of Melbourne between 2013 and 2016.
