Anthony Lucas

Anthony Lucas has a strong background in the pharmaceutical and veterinary industry. Anthony has worked as a Group Director of Product Development at Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC since 2016. Prior to that, they were a Board Member at the Veterinary Pharmacology Research Foundation starting in 2008. From 2015 to 2017, they served as the Past President of AAVPT. Anthony has also held various positions at Putney, Inc., including Senior Vice President of Scientific and Medical Affairs, Vice President of R&D, Vice President of Product Development, and Director of Product Development. Anthony has also been involved in leadership roles at the American Academy of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, serving as President, President-elect, and Secretary/Treasurer. Additionally, they have experience as a Senior Research Scientist at Elanco, a Post-Doc at the University of Kansas, and a PHD student at the University of South Australia. Anthony started their career as an intern at Pfizer.

Anthony Lucas completed their education in a chronological order. Anthony first attended Caulfield Grammar School from 1981 to 1988. Then, they pursued a BVMS (Hons) degree in Veterinary Medicine at Murdoch University from 1990 to 1993. Subsequently, they obtained a Master Veterinary Studies degree in Veterinary Pharmacology from the University of Melbourne, where they studied from 1996 to 1998. Finally, they achieved a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of South Australia from 1998 to 2003.
