Elizabeth Roberts has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and animal health industries. Elizabeth is currently serving as the Global Head of Safety at Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC since September 2017. Prior to this role, they worked as the Director of Clinical & Regulatory Affairs at Nexvet Biopharma, now part of Zoetis from August 2015 to August 2017.
Before that, Elizabeth held the position of Safety Team Lead for Companion Animal Therapeutics at ELANCO ANIMAL HEALTH (formerly Novartis Animal Health) from March 2015 to August 2015. Elizabeth also worked at Novartis Animal Health in various roles, including Interim International Project Leader from May 2013 to March 2015, Global Clinical Safety Manager from January 2011 to March 2015, and Clinical Safety Manager from August 2009 to January 2011.
Elizabeth started their career as a Veterinary Toxicologist at Novartis Animal Health from September 2006 to 2009. Prior to that, they worked as a Fellow at CIIT Centers for Health Research from 2004 to 2006, and as a Postdoctorate - Toxicology at the US Environmental Protection Agency from 2000 to 2004. Throughout their career, Elizabeth has demonstrated expertise in clinical safety, regulatory affairs, and toxicological research in the veterinary field.
Elizabeth Roberts has a strong educational background in the field of science. Elizabeth obtained their PhD in Physiology & Nutrition from North Carolina State University from 1996 to 2000. Prior to that, they earned their Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine from 1992 to 1996. Elizabeth also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology & Chemistry from St. Andrews Presbyterian College, which they completed from 1986 to 1990. Additionally, they have obtained two certifications as DABT (Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology) from the American Board of Toxicology, Inc., one in 2018 and another in 2023.
