Michael Lawrie-Simmons ACMA has extensive work experience in finance and leadership roles. Michael is currently serving as the Finance Director - Global Manufacturing & Supply at Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC, where they lead a global manufacturing finance team and handles strategic to operational tasks, including integrating acquisitions and overseeing IT/IS strategy. Prior to this, they worked as the Interim Finance Director - Europe at Nuseed.
From 2015 to 2017, Lawrie-Simmons served as the Interim Finance Director, Business Partnering at Riverside, where they built a new finance business partnering function and played a key role in leading organization-wide transformation.

In these roles, they provided financial insight and solutions for a large international manufacturing network, led global teams, and worked on M&A projects and cost reduction initiatives.
Before joining AstraZeneca, Lawrie-Simmons worked as the Interim Finance Director at various public/private sector SMEs and as the Executive Director, Finance & IT at National Museums Liverpool. Michael also held roles at Pilkington, serving as the Global Controller - Building Products and the European Systems Auditor/Audit Manager.
Earlier in their career, they worked as a Systems Accountant at Milo Group, where they handled management reporting, financial analysis, and IT management responsibilities.

Michael Lawrie-Simmons ACMA obtained a BSc(Hons) in Accounting from the University of Hull from 1993 to 1996. Michael then pursued an MSc in Information Technology in Business at the University of Lincoln from 1996 to 1997. Prior to their university education, they attended Carmel College from 1990 to 1993 and St Cuthbert's from 1985 to 1990, although no specific degrees or fields of study are mentioned for these institutions.
