Brenda McCarthy

Brenda McCarthy is a seasoned pharmacovigilance professional with extensive experience in safety signal management and regulatory compliance. Currently serving as a Senior Pharmacovigilance Scientist at Deciphera Pharmaceuticals since May 2020, Brenda is accountable for safety signal management, ad hoc safety analyses, and the preparation of aggregate reports. Previous roles include Pharmacovigilance Scientist and Associate Pharmacovigilance Scientist at the same organization, where responsibilities spanned safety signaling coordination and support, as well as EU MAA support. Brenda also holds experience as a Senior Pharmacovigilance Specialist Consultant, focusing on vendor management and SOP development. Prior to Deciphera, Brenda worked at Medpace as a Clinical Safety Coordinator II and I, responsible for ICSR case processing and training new personnel. Brenda's career began as a Registered Nurse at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Clinical Research from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Xavier University.
