In addition to early stage venture capital, Deck2 is primarily a long term hold investor and the family office of Chris Bayley, co-founder of embedded insurance unicorn Cover Genius. Our investments focus on buyouts of digital companies that sell—or should sell—insurance. Our first platform investment was in Auto Europe, a US-based market-leading legacy online travel agency (OTA) with 350 staff, jointly acquired with credit funds as part of a roll-up. Each acquisition integrates technology and human capital from Cove, our internally-owned operating partner.

We invest in companies with under-appreciated opportunities to grow revenue and expand margin with Cove’s platform capabilities.

Our portfolio is deliberately concentrated in areas where we have significant edge and we hold assets permanently, often with founders remaining in the business and appreciative of the capital and support and the opportunity to be part of a bigger opportunity, allowing eachother’s growth to compound.
