Simon Barnes

Simon Barnes currently serves as the Executive General Manager at DECMIL, a position held since November 2022. Barnes is also a Board Member at the Queensland Major Contractors Association (QMCA) from December 2022 to March 2025. Previously, Barnes was with ACCIONA as the Executive Regional Manager - Southern and Regional Manager - Victoria from September 2020 to November 2022, and spent 13 years at Lendlease in various roles including Operations Manager and Construction Director. Early career experience includes positions at Georgiou, Leighton Contractors, and various engineering roles from 1995 to 2003. Educational qualifications include a Master of Business Administration from Deakin University and a Bachelor of Engineering from Monash University, supplemented by a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors certification obtained in mid-2023.
