Director Pharma at Deep Science Ventures

Kerstin Papenfuss, PhD MBA has extensive experience in the field of therapeutics. Kerstin is currently the Associate Director of Therapeutics at Deep Science Ventures, a position they have held since 2019. In 2020, they became Director at Antiverse. Prior to that, they were the University Liaison Manager at Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult from 2018-2019. From 2011-2018, they held the position of Principal, Opportunity Assessment Group at LifeArc. Before that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Research Associate at Imperial College London from 2008-2011, where they were involved in researching new cancer treatments and analysing molecular mechanisms. Kerstin also reviewed and contributed to the writing of scientific manuscripts, articles and book chapters, and completed appropriate grant and patent applications. Prior to that, they were a Research Associate at dkfz - German Cancer Research Center from 2007-2008.

Kerstin Papenfuss, PhD MBA has an extensive educational background. Kerstin obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Molecular Biotechnology from Universität zu Lübeck in 2001-2004. Kerstin then went on to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) in Molecular Life Science from Universität zu Lübeck in 2004-2006, and a Study Abroad from The University of Auckland in 2005. Kerstin obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Imperial College London in 2007-2010, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Bayes Business School in 2017-2019. Additionally, they hold a Certificate of Attendance from the Institute for Competitive Intelligence.
