Jack Kearney is a seasoned researcher with a strong background in both artificial intelligence and theoretical physics. Currently serving as a Senior Research Scientist at Deepgram since March 2024, Kearney focuses on foundational research for voice AI technologies. Prior to this role, Kearney worked as a Quantitative Researcher at Jump Trading LLC, conducting high-frequency trading research and developing innovative machine learning solutions. At Amazon, Kearney held positions as an Applied Scientist II and I, leading efforts in natural language understanding and entity resolution, including the creation of active learning algorithms. Kearney's earlier career includes postdoctoral research at Fermilab, work at the University of Michigan, and roles at CERN and Imperial College London. Kearney holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Harvard University.
