Deer Park ISD
Megan Thompson is the Director of Finance at Deer Park ISD, with previous experience as an Accounting Manager and Accountant. Prior to this, Megan held roles such as Billing Manager at Stronghold, Project Coordinator at Insultherm, Inc., and Counselor Clerk at J.P. Dabbs Elementary. Megan started their career as an Accounts Payable Clerk at Deer Park ISD. Megan is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration in Financial Management at Lamar University, having previously completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Houston and an Associate's degree in General Studies at San Jacinto College.

Deer Park ISD is known throughout the State of Texas for its quality instructional program, outstanding facilities and exemplary teaching and support staff. Team Deer Park---comprised of all employees, students, parents, taxpayers, community members and elected officials---received a “Recognized” rating from the State of Texas this year, the seventh time the district received the rating in the last eight years In 1930, the district’s first school opened in the small community of Deer Park, which was located in east Harris County. Today, the district is comprised of 15 schools and several support buildings, and enrollment has grown to over 12,300 students. Located about 20 miles southeast of downtown Houston, the district’s boundaries include most of the City of Deer Park as well as portions of Pasadena, Lynchburg and Highlands. LEADERSHIP As a Texas public school district, Deer Park ISD is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees. Trustees are elected at large to three-year terms of office. The Board of Trustees sets governing policies for the district and hires the superintendent of schools, who is the head administrator for the district.
