Co-founder and CTO at Deets

Paul English has a diverse work history spanning over several decades as a founder, co-founder, director, and CEO. Paul is currently the co-founder and CEO of Boston Venture Studio, which aims to launch 2-3 consumer technology companies per year. Paul is also the co-founder and CTO of Deets, a project in development. In addition to their entrepreneurial pursuits, English has been involved in several non-profit organizations, including Summits Education and Partners in Health, where they held the director position. Paul co-founded Lola.com, a business travel and spend management software and services firm that was acquired by Capital One in December 2021. Paul was also the founder of GetHuman, a project aimed at connecting customers with real humans to help resolve their customer service issues. Additionally, they founded Xiangqi.com, a website for Chinese chess, and was a founder and co-chair of Embrace Boston, an organization dedicated to creating a memorial to Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King in Boston and continuing their work. Paul was the director of Village Health Works, a health-based community in Burundi. Finally, they co-founded Moonbeam, which was acquired by Audacy in July 2022, as a project of Boston Venture Studio.

Paul English has an Honorary Doctorate of Science in Computer Science from UMass Boston. Paul also received a BA/MS degree in Computer Science from UMass Boston. Prior to attending UMass Boston, Paul English attended Boston Latin School but did not receive a degree in any field of study.
