Marc-Henri Gires

Marc-Henri Gires has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as Co-Founder of Defacto. Marc-Henri also worked as a Freelance Machine Learning professional at Tint for three months in early 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Fullstack Freelancer at Waldo.io from May 2020 to January 2021.

Before their freelance roles, Marc-Henri worked at ClearMetal as a Fullstack Engineer and Data Team Lead from an unspecified date until April 2020. Marc-Henri also had a brief stint as a Data Scientist at Zipcar from August to November 2015.

In 2014, Marc-Henri worked as a Data Scientist at Local Motion, where they developed the Local Motion Data Environment, built the Local Motion Web Analytics Environment, and applied data science techniques to improve system reliability.

From July 2013 to March 2014, Marc-Henri held the position of Project Manager and Data Scientist at AgilOne, where they were responsible for technical lead in new client engagements and optimization of business analytics algorithms.

Marc-Henri pursued a Master's degree at UC Berkeley from September 2012 to June 2013. Before that, they worked as a Structural Engineer in the R&D department at Soletanche Bachy from April to August 2012, where they designed new prestressed concrete sheet-piles and developed Matlab software for sizing reinforced concrete products.

Their earliest work experience was as a Civil Engineer at Transportadora de Gas del Norte in July and August 2011, where they worked on AutoCAD plans and wrote technical reports for gas factories retrofitting.

Marc-Henri Gires started their education in 2009 at École Polytechnique, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Marc-Henri completed this program in 2012. In the following year, from 2012 to 2013, Marc-Henri attended the University of California, Berkeley. There, they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Structural Engineering, Mechanics, and Materials.
