Guy Vezina

Guy Vezina has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Guy started off as a part-time Consultant at Maspar Computer Corporation in 1991. From there, they went on to work as a Researcher at CSIRO from 1988 to 1992. In 1992, Guy joined DRDC as a Scientist and stayed with the organization until 1998 when they became the Section Head. In 1999, they became the Président conseil scientifique at CRIM. Guy then joined DRDC again in 2003 as the Director S&T C4ISR, a role they held until 2006 when they became the Director General Valcartier Research Center. Guy was also appointed as the Canadian Army Science Advisor during this time. In 2014, Guy became the Director General S&T Army and later transitioned to the role of Director General R&D Strategic Partnership in 2019 at Defence Research and Development Canada | Recherche et développement pour la défense Canada.

Guy Vezina has a comprehensive education history. Guy pursued various degrees and certificate programs in the field of computer science and engineering. In 1982, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Université Laval. Following this, in 1985, they completed a summer session at UC San Diego, focusing on Computer Science. Continuing their education, Vezina earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1988. Later that same year, they were invited as a scientist to Carnegie Mellon University, specializing in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Vezina went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Computer Science from The Australian National University, which they successfully completed in 1992. Guy further refined their expertise in technology and business strategy by attending the MIT Sloan & MIT CSAIL Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management until 2018. Finally, Vezina also participated in Singularity University's Executive Program in 2018.
