Rachel Palma Randle is an experienced leader in the non-profit and political sectors. Currently serving as Managing Director at Defend Democracy since March 2025, Rachel leads efforts to advocate for democratic integrity. In addition, Rachel holds a position as Board Trustee for Engender Scotland, contributing to the sustainability of the organization amidst challenging conditions. Rachel's background includes a tenure as CEO of the Scottish Liberal Democrats, where a resilient organization was rebuilt during significant electoral periods. Prior roles include Director for People and Head of Campaigns with the Liberal Democrats, along with impactful positions in local government, such as Head of the Leaders' Office at Liverpool City Council and EU Policy & Public Affairs Officer at the Local Government Association. Rachel's academic credentials include multiple degrees in Politics and American Government and Politics from De Montfort University and John Mason School.
