Abigail Owen

Abigail Owen is an experienced professional in environmental science, currently serving as the Land and Habitat Coordinator at Defenders of Wildlife since September 2021. Previous positions include Customer Service Assistant II at Kennebunk Savings, Environmental Education Intern at Portland Water District, and Student Research Assistant at the University of Southern Maine, where research focused on harvesting methods of sea-run alewives in Maine. Abigail gained additional research experience as an intern at Presumpscot Regional Land Trust and through a research fellowship at the University of Southern Maine, studying chemically mediated interactions between American Dog ticks and Blacklegged ticks. Abigail holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from the University of Southern Maine, earned in 2019.
