John Trefry

John Trefry is a seasoned professional in the fields of biodefense, virology, and nanotechnology. Currently serving as a Science & Technology Manager at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency since October 2019, John focuses on vaccines and therapeutics. Prior experience includes roles as a Microbiologist at the FDA, where John contributed to CBER and CDRH divisions. At Team Ke'aki Tech within USAMRIID, John held the position of Principal Investigator in the Virology Division from 2011 to October 2017. John’s academic background includes a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from Wright State University, emphasizing biodefense and nanotechnology as antiviral agents, and a B.S. in Biology from The Ohio State University. John's extensive research experience includes significant contributions to melanoma studies and nanotechnology applications to enhance warfighter effectiveness.
