Heath Dean has worked in a variety of roles in the military and civilian sectors. In 2005, they began working for the United States Air Force as an Emergency Management Specialist, managing and executing the installation emergency management program. In 2009, they joined the US Air Force Reserve as a Cyber Systems Operations Journeyman, designing, constructing, maintaining, and repairing Air Force Information Systems. From 2013 to 2018, they worked for the US Marine Corps as a Platoon Sergeant, Safety Manager, Facilities Manager, Hazardous Materials and Waste/Safety Manager, and Engineer. In 2018, they joined Insight Global as a Windows 10 Migration Specialist. In 2019, they began working for DefenseStorm as a Cybersecurity Engineer and Security Analyst, providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 security event monitoring, triage, and analysis of assigned clients.
Heath Dean attended Baton Rouge Community College from 2010 to 2012, where they studied General Studies but did not receive a degree. Heath then attended Baton Rouge School of Computers from 2004 to 2005, where they earned a Certificate in Network Engineering. In 2017, Heath Dean attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, but did not receive a degree. In addition, they obtained a Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) certification from (ISC)\u00b2 in November 2017, and a MTA: Security Fundamentals - Certified 2017 certification from Microsoft in May 2017.
