Alistair Edwardes

Alistair Edwardes is an experienced professional in the field of spatial data science and analysis, currently serving as the Head of Spatial Data Science at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since September 2020. Prior roles include Lead Data Scientist at the Office for National Statistics, where the focus was on geospatial data science technologies and public policy, and Head of Analysis and Reporting at HM Courts & Tribunals Service, driving operational performance reporting. Alistair also has a background in educational policy as Team Leader for Spatial Analysis and Modelling at the Department for Education and has held positions in various governmental departments, including the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills as an Economic Geographer and the Department for Communities and Local Government as a Senior Spatial Analyst. Alistair's earlier academic work includes significant research projects at the University of Zurich and the University of Edinburgh, culminating in a Ph.D. in GIScience from the University of Zurich.
