Amber Chandler-Cobley serves as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, focusing on environmental aspects of deep-seabed mining policy and representing the UK at the International Seabed Authority. Prior experience includes a role as a PhD Researcher at both the Natural History Museum and the University of Southampton, where research centered on biodiversity and policy in relation to deep-sea mining. Additionally, Amber has worked as an Environmental Consultant for the International Seabed Authority and contributed to the development of Regional Environmental Management Plans. Previous positions also include involvement with the Pew Charitable Trusts, the Government Office for Science, and a role as a Research Assistant at Plymouth University, alongside various internships within the field of environmental management. Amber holds a Master’s Degree in Marine Biology from the University of Southampton.
